Holland, then Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, rededicated the Toronto Ontario Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Sunday, March 23, 2025. “Today, we are happy to break the lock on the Toronto Ontario Temple and its grounds, to have what we pray will be a continuous flow of faithful recommend holders in this renewed opportunity now open to us,” the Apostle said. “Today, may we not ‘go through the temple,’ but may we have the temple ‘go through us.’”

Humanitarian Services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints approved a grant to provide Survival English courses to between 780 and 900 Ukrainian evacuees in Calgary, Alberta. This donation is the culmination of two years of collaboration between the Church’s Calgary Alberta West Stake and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC), Alberta Provincial Council, which has helped Ukrainian evacuees learn English, make friends, obtain basic household items, get jobs and receive spiritual support.

A donation from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is giving newcomers to Canada a second chance at the careers for which they have trained. The CAD$300,000 (US$220,000) donation to support Windmill Microlending (WM) will enable at least 60 immigrants and refugees to pursue professional re-credentialing, thus allowing them to pursue careers in their fields and integrate more successfully into the Canadian workforce.

“Church Donation in New Brunswick Feeds Hope”
New Brunswick ranks among the Canadian provinces with the highest levels of food insecurity, with over 25% of residents struggling to access enough nutritious food. In an expression of community support, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated $400,000 to Feed New Brunswick, the province’s central food bank network. This gift adds to the $237,000 already contributed by the Church to New Brunswick food banks and service organizations since 2023.
