New Temple Leaders Begin Their Service in Regina, Vancouver and Winnipeg

Three couples have been assigned as new temple leaders in Canada and will begin their three-year service in September 2024.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called these new temple presidents and matrons to serve in three of Canada’s nine temples. The Church has 188 temples operating worldwide, seven that are previously dedicated but closed for renovation and 155 under construction or announced.

Vancouver British Columbia Temple

Brian Douglas Leavitt and Brenda Elaine Rose Leavitt, Willoughby Ward, Abbotsford British Columbia Stake, called as president and matron of the Vancouver British Columbia Temple, succeeding President Terry Rempel and Sister Ladene Rempel. President Leavitt is a temple presidency counselor and a former Canada Halifax Mission president, stake president, bishop and branch president. He was born in Cardston, Alberta, to Cleve Leavitt and Eva Elaine Leavitt.

Sister Leavitt is an assistant to the matron and a former mission president companion, stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Young Women president and ward Relief Society presidency counselor. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to George Thomas Clayton Rose and Caroline Roberts.

Regina Saskatchewan Temple

Douglas William Robertson and Donna Elaine Fairwell Robertson, Wildwood Ward, Saskatoon Saskatchewan Stake, called as president and matron of the Regina Saskatchewan Temple, succeeding President Eric G. Slocombe and Sister Jean Slocombe. President Robertson is a temple sealer and institute teacher and a former stake president, high councilor and bishop. He was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan, to Archibald Norman Robertson and Beth Wicks.

Sister Robertson is a temple ordinance worker and a former ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president and ward Primary presidency counselor. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Albert George Fairwell and Margaret Isabelle Roth.

Douglas Turner Englot and Valerie Ann Lenton Englot, Steinbach Branch, Winnipeg Manitoba East Stake, called as president and matron of the Winnipeg Manitoba Temple, succeeding President George L. Spencer and Sister Linda Spencer. President Englot is a temple presidency counselor and a former high councilor, bishop and elders quorum presidency counselor. He was born in Beausejour, Manitoba, to Swaney Englot and Edith Mae Turner.

Sister Englot is an assistant to the matron and a former stake Primary president, ward Relief Society president and ward Primary president. She was born in Miami, Manitoba, to Alex Lenton and Verna Trimble.
