Plans to construct the Vancouver British Columbia Temple were announced May 25, 2006. Church leaders broke ground August 4, 2007, and Thomas S. Monson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 2008 to 2018, dedicated the Vancouver British Columbia Temple May 2, 2010. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in British Columbia and northern Washington.
The 2,617-square-metre temple’s exterior is Branco Siena granite from Brazil.
