Elder Vern P. Stanfill was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2015. Elder Stanfill is currently serving as the president of the Canada area.
Church Service
Elder Vern P. Stanfill was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 2015. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Sixth Quorum of the Seventy in the North America Central Area. After his call as a General Authority, he served in the Africa West Area Presidency. He has served in a number of committee assignments at Church headquarters. Elder Stanfill has also served in the North America Northeast, North America Southeast, and Caribbean Area Presidencies.
Elder Stanfill has served in numerous Church callings, including full-time missionary in the France Toulouse mission, executive secretary, elders quorum president, bishop’s counselor, bishop, high councilor, stake presidency counselor, bishopric, high priest group leader, and stake president.
Professional Life
Elder Stanfill received a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Brigham Young University in 1981. He started his career in managing the family ranch in large cattle, hay and grain operation. While still being involved in this management he currently is self-employed managing a family trust.
Personal Life
Vern Perry Stanfill was born in Townsend, Montana on 8 August 1957. He married Alicia Cecil Cox in December 1980. They are the parents of four children.
